Frequently Asked Questions
How much does this IDRP program cost?

There are two ways to attend the IDRP Class – IN PERSON (NEW!) and ONLINE.

The IN PERSON class is $660. This includes a ten hour class broken up into two days, 5 hours each day; your workbook, which is required by the State of Vermont to complete the course, plus shipping and handling; and an assessment to determine if the State of Vermont will recommend counseling. Counseling is a completely separate program and if you are required by the State of Vermont to complete counseling, a list of counselors will be provided for your convenience.

_______

The ONLINE Class is $435. This includes the State of Vermont Assessment; your workbook, which is required by the State of Vermont to complete the course, plus shipping and handling; and a ten hour class over two days online.

Evaluation appointments will be scheduled by our staff at Advocates For Recovery once we have reviewed your initial assessment and receive initial data from the State of Vermont DMV. (The two-day IDRP class is available at a minimum twice per month, and classes are being added all the time, so check back frequently for new dates and times. )

It is the client’s responsibility to know their requirements before signing up for IDRP. If you have questions about your eligibility, please call the Department of Health 802-651-1574.

Once an evaluation has been completed, your eligibility will be verified. Please note that at this stage, the evaluation fee is non-refundable. Completion of the course is contingent upon your active participation and fulfillment of the payment requirements for the necessary educational components.

Advocates For Recovery have agreements with SOME other states including New York, Maine, Massachusetts and Florida. There may be extra work and an additional fee as required by that state. Please check with someone from Advocates For Recovery before committing to our program so as to be sure we can fulfill your needs.

Advocates for Recovery will notify the director of the Vermont IDRP Program of your completion within five business days from the completion of your class. The Director of the IDRP Program for the State of Vermont will notify the Vermont DMV (on average) within seven days of receiving Advocates For Recovery’s completion of class paperwork. This means you should call the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles at 888-998-3766.

For DUI #1 or “first offense”, a minimum of 4 hours of counseling within a minimum of 28 days is required.

For DUI #2+ or “multiple offenses”, a minimum of 4 hours of counseling within a minimum of 28 days is required.

Final session of counseling must occur within the 60 days of submitting Treatment Information Form (TIF).
